How the schedule works

The city publishes a rule rather than a list: the show starts at 21:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday every week, and on major public holidays. Fire runs for two minutes, water for three.
Everything below is that rule applied to the calendar, not a copy of a published list. Two minutes of fire and three of water means the whole event is over by 21:05, and the roads clear about twenty minutes later.

Tet, and what is not confirmed
The 2027 Tet holiday runs from 4 to 10 February 2027, with lunar new year day on 6 February — that is the government's published notice, checked on 2 November 2026.
Four of those days are not Friday, Saturday or Sunday: Thursday 4, Monday 8, Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10. The city's rule says "major public holidays", and Tet is the major holiday of the year, so those four evenings are likely — but the bridge page does not list them, and we will not print them as certain.

Planning a night around it
The show is five minutes, so build the evening around it rather than travelling for it. Dinner at 19:00 on the river side, the bridge at 20:45, and a walk afterwards instead of a car: the roads jam for about twenty minutes after the water stops.
If you are staying on the beach strip, the ride is 4.7 km and six minutes. Do it twice in an evening if you like, but do not walk the beach road back after 22:00 — it is long and unlit in places.
For photographs, arrive 20:30 and set your exposure before the first flame. The water is much brighter than the fire, so the settings that work for one will not work for the other.
Why the counts differ by month
January has fifteen evenings because it contains five Fridays, five Saturdays and five Sundays. February and March have twelve because they start on a Monday or a Sunday, which leaves four of each.
If your trip is two nights, the chance of catching it depends on the days rather than the dates: a Tuesday and Wednesday pair has none, a Friday and Saturday pair has two.

Where should I stand?
West bank for photographs, east bank to be close to the fire. The bridge deck is closed to traffic.
