February averages 22 mm over 7 rain days, with 26.3°C by day and 20.4°C at night — the driest month of the first half of the year. Check where Tet falls: the lunar new year can land in February and close small restaurants for about a week.

What February is like
February is where the winter weather settles. Rainfall is 22 mm over 7 rain days — a tenth of November's total over a third of the days — and the average maximum climbs to 26.3°C from January's 25.2°C, while nights stay around 20.4°C.
In practice that means dry pavements, clear light and a city that is easy to walk. It is the month when the Marble Mountains stop being a heat decision and start being a two-hour stop, and when My Khe is at its most pleasant for people who do not want to swim.
Dry streets, and what to do with them

| Place | Hours | Ticket |
|---|---|---|
| Marble Mountains | 07:00–17:00 | 40,000₫ + lift |
| Cham Museum | 07:30–17:00 | 60,000₫ |
| Da Nang Museum | 08:00–17:00 | 50,000₫ |
| Ba Na Hills | 08:00–22:00 | 1,000,000₫ |
The walkable version of the city finally makes sense: Han Market, the riverfront and the museums are within a couple of kilometres of each other, and the Dragon Bridge show — 21:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, fire for two minutes and water for three — is a five-minute stop rather than an evening.
Hoi An is 32.2 km south, about 30 minutes with clear roads, and February evenings make the walk back along the river worth planning for. The old town runs 09:00–21:30 in summer and 09:00–21:00 in winter; the lanterns are on from dusk.
Tet, in February
The lunar new year moves between late January and February, and in the years it lands in February it lands in the middle of the strongest weather of the season. That is the trade: dry, comfortable days and a week when a lot of small businesses are shut.
Museums and the big attractions usually keep their hours. What closes are the family restaurants, the small shops and the places that make a city feel lived in — which is most of what you came for, so plan the Tet week around the major sites and ask your hotel where to eat.
Who February suits
- Travellers who want to walk a city rather than survive it: 26°C with dry pavements.
- Families, because the beach and the museums both work without a weather plan.
- Anyone who wants Ba Na Hills with a decent chance of a view: 1,000,000₫ a ticket, and cloud is the risk, not rain.
It suits less well if your trip is built on the beach as an all-day activity: the sea is at its coolest of the year, and while people swim, nobody spends three hours in it.
Getting around in February
Everything worth seeing is inside a short ride. The airport is 6 km from the An Thuong strip, about ten minutes; Han Market to My Khe is 4.7 km, six minutes; the Marble Mountains are 9.7 km, fourteen minutes.
The two longer hops are Ba Na and Hoi An, and they are almost the same distance in opposite directions: 31.8 km west to the cable car base, about 29 minutes, and 32.2 km south to Hoi An, about 30 minutes. February roads are dry, so both of those times hold; in October they do not.
We do not print taxi or Grab fares, because the app quotes by the hour and a number here would be stale. The distance and the time are the parts that stay true.
